Update July 2010 : Send A Child To School Updates

Update July 2010

by Alex Navarro on 07/14/10

This is our first blog. As you can see on our website, we are a small group of students trying to make a difference in the lives of some very needy children in Hyderabad, India. By paying their annual tuition to attend missionary school, we hope to give them a chance at a better future.  This year’s goal, ending June 30, was to send 25 kids to school and we just achieved it. We would like to thank our generous donors for making this possible. 100% of the funds we raise go to the school for the kids. All marketing and other costs for Send A Child To School are donated.

School has just started up again at the Herald School. We have a new principal this year, Father Francis, who speaks really good English so it has become much easier to communicate with the school. Father Koppula was also great to work with but he has been transferred to Australia to open a new school there.

This month we are starting to raise donations for the next school year and have a car wash and a tag sale planned for next month.  We have also started a new Send A Child To School chapter in Glastonbury, CT, heading up by Roman Green. Roman’s sister, Katie, attends Wake Forest University and is working as an intern for us this summer. Katie is researching grants and recruiting additional volunteers.

We look forward to a successful summer of fundraising.
